Getting Ready

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

We suggest you review the full information about the Symposium - all available on our website - so you can make sure to get the most out of the program.

  • Program Schedule
  • Presenter Bios
  • Lodging Options
  • Dining Options
  • The Marketplace

We will be staying in touch with you by email as well as posting Blogs with news, updates and tidbits about the symposium. Keep your eye out for these or find them on our Symposium Preview page.

Also, we'll be using the Lessonface dashboard to post information and documents for you. You can chat with other registrants and post questions there as well. Access your Lessonface dasboard here.

We will be recording the content from all 3 days of the symposium available for our Virtual registrants.

  • The recordings will be posted on Lessonface AFTER THE END OF THE SYMPOSIUM. This will give us time to edit and optimize the content before making it available. We will notify you when the content becomes available.
  • The recordings will be available for a full year until August 21 2027 - so you have plenty of time to access the content!

You are responsible for making your own lodging arrangements.

  • See our Lodging page for several hotels where we've reserved a block of rooms at a negotiated lower rate.
  • We recommend you call the hotels directly and/or check on-line before booking as you may find a better price.  Make sure to mention you are attending the Symposium.
  • We've also listed some  bed-and-breakfast type rooms in the area, but note they are very limited.

If you have specific dietary restrictions, mobility restrictions or other issues you'd like us to know about, please fill out that information on your Lessonface profile or email us at flaxandlinen2026@gmail.com

We will be offering a light breakfast and lunch all three days.  Friday and Saturday dinner is on your own from 5-7 pm.

  • See our Dining page for local restaurant suggestions.
  • Most offer delivery service -- so you may want to consider that option and have your food order delivered to the Museum.
  • We will do our best to accommodate any food restrictions that you've notified us about.

All attendees will receive a welcome packet consisting of a tote bag, clipboard, paper for taking notes, pen, program & handouts.  We will supply materials for the various hands-on activities at no extra charge. You're welcome to bring any additional materials you'll think you'll need.

If you want to participate in the evening spin-in sessions, you should bring your spinning wheel, other items and fiber you'll need to spin.

  • We will have some fiber available for sale in the Marketplace.
  • Please do NOT bring these items into the building with you but leave in your car until the evening session, as we don't have extra room to store them.

It is very important to thoroughly read and review all the rules of the Marketplace - explaining what items you're allowed to sell, how to properly tag your items, drop off/pick up schedule, and other details.

  • 25% of proceeds are donated to the Museum; 75% to the Consignor. Payment will be mailed to you AFTER the end of the symposium.
  • Please make sure to understand and follow the scheduled times for dropping off and picking up your items.  We ask that you adhere to that schedule so we do not disturb on-going activities.
  • If we don't have room, you're welcome to 'tailgate' your items from your vehicle. We do ask you donate 25% of sales to the Museum.
